Creating Space in your Kitchen
I love my kitchen, when I bought my new home I made sure that there was plenty of my budget made available to for decorating my new kitchen.
I had all the old units ripped out and I replaced them with some fitted units, for a contemporary look I had white painted kitchen units with brushed steel handles installed. I love entertaining in my kitchen so I had the wall between my kitchen and dining room removed (professionally) to create a spacious kitchen diner. There is nothing more enjoyable than cooking for your friends and throwing a dinner party where the food is good and the wine is flowing – just check out the popularity of the TV show “Come Dine With Me”!
For the ultimate dining experience I bought an extending dining table for the room, this allows me to host large parties but also save space when not using the table. To continue the contemporary feel I had started with the kitchen units I chose a glass-topped dining table and for the ultimate in luxury I bought a set of leather dining chairs for myself and my guests.
To create the extra space I needed for cooking (and for extra style) I had a kitchen island installed in my kitchen. This allows you to create extra workspace in your kitchen, and it is a wonderful focal point in the room, in my kitchen-diner I can cook and still socialise with my friends who are sat around the dining table.
If your budget allows it I highly recommend that you try and create the kitchen of your dreams – bespoke kitchen units, kitchen islands or even breakfast bars, you’ll be surprised how long you spend in the room and I think the kitchen is worth every penny you invest in it.
